Payment Policy

Payment for the entire month is due at the first lesson of each month. Credit or makeup lessons can be given for a cancellation only if there is 24 hours notice—the exception is an emergency or illness. A late fee of $10 will be charged if the payment is not received by the 8th day of the month. If the student misses the first lesson of the month, please mail the payment to us. If there are any extra charges that apply to the next month, a bill will be sent home with the student at the final lesson of the month. There is a one-credit maximum for each month from September through May (exceptions are holidays). In the event of a bounced check, an additional $20 fee will be charged.

Illness

Parents are asked not to bring in a child with cold or flu symptoms. Lessons are less productive, and there is a risk of infecting others. To receive full credit for the lesson in the event of illness, we ask that you notify us by 11:00 AM on the day of the lesson.

Trial Period

Each new student will have two months of lessons to explore the relationship between student and teacher.

Drop-off Policy

Following the preliminary lesson, it is recommended that the student be dropped off for his/her lesson. From previous experience, we have found a “one-on-one” session to be less distracting and more productive for the student. Please arrive no earlier than the appointed time as we have limited waiting space.

Unexcused Absences

If a student misses two or more lessons in a row unexcused, he/she may lose his/her time-slot.

Practice Expectations

The most important aspect of learning the discipline of music is getting the most out of each lesson through the establishment of a habitual practice routine. Sporadic practicing yields ineffective and sometimes frustrating results for the student and the teacher. The time commitment shall be discussed.
